How will the Digital SAT be secure?
Can students have scratch paper?
1. How the will digital SAT be more secure?

With the paper-based SAT, the scores for the whole group of students might have been canceled if one test got compromised. With the digital exam, students will have unique test forms to avoid this problem. 




3. Can student bring their own calculators?

Yes, any calculators that were allowed for the paper SAT can be used for the digital SAT.  The exam also has a built-in Desmos calculator all students can use on-screen.


5. Can students have scratch paper?

Yes! If students would like paper to work out math problems or even to take notes on reading passages, it will be available.  



7. Can students take a break before the end of the section?

Yes, students may leave to use the restroom at any point during the exam. However, the clock will not be stopped and they will lose the time away from the test. 

9. How long will it take to get the results of the digital SAT? 

Students will receive their score reports in just 2 - 3 days!





2. Can a student return to previous questions on the digital SAT?

Students are free to return to any question within the module that they are currently working on.  They can even mark questions for later review and have the option to return to those questions when they reach the end of a module.  Students will NOT be able to return to questions from any previous modules once the time has elapsed.

4. Will students be able to write on the exam?

Yes, students will have tools to highlight text, cross out incorrect answers, and even write notes on the screen. 

6. How can students manage their time?

The digital SAT will have a clock on the screen that counts down the time remaining on the current section of the test. Students who prefer not to see the clock can hide it. However, all students will get a five-minute warning, after which time they can no longer hide the clock. 

8. Will the digital SAT have an essay?

No, there is no essay section for digital SAT.
